It’s September 2021! This month, The Coach Guardian is exploring the topic of Creating Coaching Products.

Even if you may not officially be a coach, we think these articles will help. We know coaching is currently morphing into something new, something bigger, something that combines modalities. We’ve just chosen to use the word “Coach” as a catch-all phrase until a better more accurate term comes along. If you are working in service of others by facilitating personal transformation and/or healing, these articles will serve you!

Business Savvy

Way back in 2005, while I was still working as a Business Analyst in IT, I knew I wanted to start a business and be my own boss. I was listening to Michael Gerber’s E-Myth as well as Robert Kiyosaki’s, Rich Dad Poor Dad series over and over and over during my long commutes from Country New South Wales into Australia’s capital, Canberra.

Kiyosaki’s audios got me really excited about passive income (money that is not linked to me spending time doing something). So, when I settled on starting a coaching business I was already thinking about coaching products and passive income streams from day one. But I had no idea how that would link to a service-based business like coaching.

The Product Ideas Came

Eventually, the idea did come. All my coach friends were always impressed with how I had templates for everything in my business and how that made my business so professional-looking.

I launched my first passive income product back in 2009, an information product packed full of re-brandable templates for coaches to use in their own coaching business. The Coaching Starter Kit is still selling all these years later (with a few upgrades every few years).

Very soon after that other coaches wanted to know how I did it and I started helping them do what I did. And that turned into other leveraged income products including, Mastermind Groups, Online Courses, and even a Training Academy.

Although I don’t do that work anymore, there are plenty of rich articles on product development on my old blog that still hold their own and offer great knowledge for coaches all these years later. Check out The 4 Product Levels of Coaching, and How to Design Your Own Signature Coaching Program. There is also a FANTASTIC interview I recently did for The Coach Guardian with Karyn Greenstreet, Everything You Need to Know About Running Virtual Mastermind Groups.

Since my simple beginnings in coaching, I’ve kept going with new product ideas including software, My Coach Office, and of course this publication, The Coach Guardian.

Diversify Your Product Range for

I tell you all of this with the hope of getting you excited by the possibilities of adding a range of products to your coaching product suite. It’s fantastic to have products that are working for you while you sleep, and that complement and extend your coaching offer.

I hope you enjoy this month’s articles on Creating Coaching Products.
