The Three Marketing Pillars of Creating A Coaching Movement

Marketing your coaching business can easily feel like a scattered process of trying to attend to 10 different places and platforms at once. Especially if you have an online business it can feel like you need to always be learning, knowing, and doing “all the things” to “be visible” and hopefully draw in new clients.

When I moved online with my marketing and my business, I felt overwhelmed trying to understand and utilize the online marketing systems. And in the beginning, I tried to do it all, post everywhere, try to guess what topics my clients may be interested in, and hope that I was creating the right kind of content to bring in new clients.

But after a good year or two of spinning my wheels, I realized that throwing spaghetti at the wall was creating the opposite state of being than the one I wanted to embody in my brand. I knew that I needed a new approach to marketing that embodied the energy I wanted to create in the world. I started to focus on a movement… not just visibility.

What I found in the two years of spinning my wheels was that what I needed wasn’t a better brand, but a message that tapped into a movement that my clients wanted to be part of.

The Movement Message

A movement message focuses on the intersection of your purpose, your client’s purpose, and the transformational journey you offer them to help them overcome their problems and achieve their goals.

When you focus on these three pillars, you will be able to make aligned and embodied choices about where to put your energy, where to show up and how to talk about your offers in a way that ignites a transformation and grows your business.

These three pillars are:

  1. Your Core Purpose – Get clear on how you embody your core message – the truths that guide you, what you are a stand for, and your vision for how you want to make the world a better place through your business.
  2. Your Clients’ Core Purpose – Get clear on what your clients stand for, the truths and ideals that inspire them, and how they see themselves at their highest level. And know how these intersect with your core purpose.
  3. Your clients’ transformational journey – Get clear on where your clients are stuck in realizing their purpose and clarify your offer as both a catalyst towards their purpose and a path to overcoming the obstacles to get there.

Once you are clear on these three points, you can focus your messaging on igniting a shared vision of possibility and potential with your clients, and pinpointing the specific ways that you can support growth and change towards this end through your products or services. Choosing where to show up and share your message is easy once you are clear on these three pillars.

My work focuses on helping change makers to embody their movement in their lives and create their movement in their business. Check out my Tune In Guide to Embodying Your Purpose to get started!
