‘Per Aspera ad Astra’ - Through Hardships to the Stars!
In 2020, the world changed, suddenly and without much warning.
The unthinkable happened – a new reality came upon us demanding our full attention and abidance to new rules and laws, imposing a completely different way of living.
A new vocabulary emerged globally, giving a new shape and tone to our conversations, media topics, and even our thought patterns: COVID 19, lockdowns, quarantine, mask mandates, first, second and third waves of the coronavirus pandemic, curfews, PCR tests, vaccinations, the list goes on.
Discussions about travel plans, social gatherings, and public events were replaced by adaptation to new forms of working, studying, and communicating.
Zoom meetings, remote working, home-schooling, and social isolation started dictating the new norms of daily life.
The transition to that way of life was not smooth and gradual, it almost happened overnight.
Stress, tension, fear, social unrest, protests, collapsing healthcare systems, unemployment, and financial instability put enormous pressure on countries and nations and the term Age of Uncertainty became the definition of the current times.
But as the old saying goes, ‘The darkest hour is just before dawn ‘!
The Dawning of a New Era
The world made it through that most challenging year and welcomed 2021 with great hopes for better times ahead and the dawning of a new era.
Astrologers all over the world have been talking and warning about this period of darkness and hardship. But they also saw the promises of the coming of a new epoch in human history – the Age of liberation, progressive ways of thinking, and a higher level of collective consciousness – the Age of Aquarius!
Opinions about the exact beginning of this next chapter in the history of mankind vary but it is a fact that seven heavenly bodies (including the Luminaries – Sun and Moon) were in Aquarius, in February this year, which has not happened in thousands of years!
There is now enough evidence of the powerful influence of the energy of Aquarius at all levels!
We see technology advancing faster than ever and the Internet connecting us through an unprecedented, massive use of devices and platforms.
Scientific breakthroughs, new social structures, and models of collaboration, holistic perspectives, and visions for humanity of the future are all part of that Uranian dynamic (Uranus is the planetary ruler of Aquarius).
Building a better world together
The values of this modern Renaissance include individual responsibility, awakening, enlightenment, unconventional intelligence, tolerance, community, equality, and common goals.
The opposite sign of Aquarius is Leo. This is the psychological axis of ‘My importance and values’ (Leo) vs ‘Our humanitarian ideals and values’ (Aquarius).
These are great times for Coaches and Healers as active agents of personal growth and true Changemakers to facilitate the process of global transformation.
This pivotal transition would definitely allow us, as the human race, to move to the next level. However, there are still challenges to face and overcome as part of the preparation for that most significant collective change.
A big part of those challenges is the influence of the square (90’ angle) between the Taskmaster Saturn in Aquarius and Uranus, The Rebel, in Taurus.
This is the biggest astrological event of the year! Another energy that we will be experiencing throughout 2021 is coming from the rare conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius (the last time it happened was hundreds of years ago).
The major significance of these configurations requires a special analysis which I will provide in separate articles, in this column.
