Each New Year I choose a word that sets an overall intention for what I’d like to experience for the year. Last year my word was “Space”. Boy did I get that in spades!
My word for 2021 is “Prosperity”. So this year, I’m on the lookout to learn anything that may help me to fill my cup of abundance even more in all parts of my life. Following my inspiration in this area has already brought me new friends and unexpected mentors for an alternative mindset around money.
This is perfect because if I want to experience something different than the past; if I want change…I have to change. I need new ideas. To get new results I need to think, see, talk, and feel differently about money, abundance, and being prosperous.
Here is something I’ve learned that feels really significant to the new mindset that I am cultivating around what it means to be, do, and have “Prosperity”….
The Four Economic Systems for Coaches
Exchange Economy = I give you something and you give me something of equal value in exchange – can be money or something else
Share Economy = Everybody discusses and shares so all people in the community receive what they need. This is not dictated by the government, it’s driven by the community.
Gift Economy = You always give with no expectation or attachment to getting something back. You are always open to receive from all sources.
Hybrid = a blend of Exchange/Share/Gift
Don’t worry, there is no wrong or right model. One model is not better or worse than another. Our soul calls us to the right model for us.
I'm Hooked
A Coach Who Gifts 100%
A friend and I have had several interviews with a coach in Japan who only gifts her time. She is 100% supported by donations of money, food, clothes, etc. I’m currently working on an article about her and her philosophy. AMAZING! INSPIRING Stuff! It’s another demonstration of how so much is possible when we believe.
A Social Movement Built on Gifts
My new friends and I interviewed the co-founder of a social art movement for a united Korea. The whole movement was brought to life by people gifting (time money, equipment, food, expertise, etc)! I’m currently working on an article about this too.
Friends Who Gift their Time to Causes they Believe in
I got together three of my friends, who are gifting their time to causes they believe in, to have a discussion on gifting. I wanted to discover how gifting is impacting their life and business. WHY?
Why do I do this? I ask myself this question regularly and the answer is usually the same: because it feels inspiring to me and it feels important to do.
It’s my intention that by sharing my passions other sparks will be ignited in an infinite loop of goodness. The world deserves more light.
