According to Chinese metaphysics, our life path is determined based on 3 types of luck: Heaven Luck, Earth Luck and Man Luck. These three lucks are also known as Cosmic Trinity.
Man Luck takes about 40-50% of who we are. This luck is influenced by our positive or negative mindset, our actions, ideas, education, growth. Our focus and attitude towards life will determine what kind of circumstances we will attract and whether we will achieve things in easy or a hard way. Man Luck is also greatly affected by our professional and personal development and how generous we are.
Lastly, there is Earth Luck, which also comprises about 30-40% of why things are the way they are in our life, and this luck is specifically tied to Feng Shui. Earth Luck spawns from the connection between man and his environment. Earth Luck embodies the natural environment and the circumstances into which we are born, the nature that surrounds us, buildings we live in, weather and political climate, and our path in relation to those circumstances.
We identify Feng Shui with our Earth Luck and use its principles to maximise it. With Feng Shui, we use the benefits of the natural energies around us to create spaces that enhance and harmonise all aspects of our lives.
Enhance Your Luck
“Where Attention Goes, Energy Flows” – encourage your clients to place this quote in a visible area in their office.
This sentence sums up one of the main principles behind Feng Shui and means to enhance all your lucks, but particularly your Man Luck. Our life expands in proportion to the amount of attention we pay to our growth and self-betterment. However, our fears, doubts, worries, and other emotions often take a great deal of our energy from us; energy we could have used for our gain.
Not so long ago, I had a moment of pure clarity amid all the chaos and draining uncertainty around us. I realised that my time and my energy is my biggest currency. In the past I have recklessly spent my time on things that don’t serve me, such as watching the news more than necessary or overthinking certain things – that time is lost. There is no value, and no refund back on that time. But, if I invest my energy carefully and deliberately, it will create a long-term value in my life.
Consciously Invest Your Energy
Spend less, invest more. Spend less of your currency on self-doubts, procrastination, guilt, shame, fears, and invest it instead. Invest in self-care. Invest in knowledge. Invest in quality time with your kids. Invest in laughter. Invest in your passions. Invest in physical activity. Invest in your skills. Invest in reading. Invest in creating. Every moment spent investing in yourself will pay in interest, to you, and everyone around you.
That does not mean we need to block and ignore hard days and emotions. We need to feel the negative emotions for what they are, so we know where to go from there, and what is worth investing in and what is not. So once acknowledged, shift your attention back to the one, even the smallest thing that you can control in those hard moments, even if it’s just your breath.
No matter what, you always have control over you.
The balance comes from not letting your fears soar and dealing with problems when they are small. We need obstacles just as we need peace, because if we did not have challenges to deal with how would we know satisfaction?
“All difficult things in the world are sure to arise from a previous state in which they were easy, and all great things from one in which they were small.”
― Lao Tzu, Tao Te Ching
